Define Data Collection Methods
For each stakeholder group, you choose the data collection method — or combination of methods — you will use to gather their input. Karomia supports three methods: surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
Choosing a method
| Method | Best for |
|---|---|
| Survey | Large groups, remote stakeholders, scalable data collection |
| Interview | Individual experts, sensitive topics, in-depth responses |
| Focus group | Collaborative scoring, achieving group consensus |
You can use multiple methods for the same stakeholder group. Each method is weighted differently in the final calculation (see Scoring guidance).
Setting target numbers
For each method assigned to a group, enter the number of participants you plan to collect responses from. These targets help you track completion and are used in the materiality calculation.

Configuring your survey
If you are using surveys for a stakeholder group, configure the survey settings:
- Survey name — A title visible to respondents.
- Introduction text — An optional message shown at the start of the survey, explaining its purpose and how long it takes.
- Maximum number of questions — Set a cap on the number of scoring questions shown to each respondent. Karomia dynamically selects questions based on respondent expertise and prior response patterns.
- Logo — Upload your organization's logo to brand the survey.
- Video (optional) — Upload an introductory video (up to 100 MB) to provide context for respondents before they begin.

Once configured, proceed to Send out surveys to distribute them to your stakeholders.
