Define Business Activities
Business activities give the AI the context it needs to generate a relevant and accurate list of IROs for your organization. You define two types of activities: commercial and internal.
Commercial activities
Commercial activities describe what your organization does in the market — your products, services, and supply chain relationships.
- Large organizations can add up to 8 commercial activities.
- SMEs can add up to 2 commercial activities.
For each commercial activity, provide:
- Name — A short label for the activity (e.g. "Software Development", "Retail Distribution").
- Description — A brief explanation of what the activity involves. The more specific you are, the more accurate the AI-generated IROs will be.
- Size — Rate the relative size of this activity on a scale of 1–10, where 10 is your largest or most significant activity.
- Upstream activities (optional) — Key suppliers or upstream processes that feed into this activity.
- Downstream activities (optional) — Customers, distribution channels, or downstream processes that follow from this activity.
Internal activities
Internal activities cover the operational functions that support your commercial work. Six categories are preconfigured:
- Marketing & Sales
- Finance & Accounting
- Human Resources
- IT
- Customer Service
- Research & Development
For each internal activity, link it to the relevant commercial activities it supports. This connection helps the AI understand which parts of your organization's footprint are relevant to each IRO.
Be specific in your descriptions. Vague descriptions produce generic IROs. A description like "manufacture and sell industrial pumps to European water utilities" will yield more targeted results than "manufacturing".
